Retirement Planning

With so many things to plan for in life, it’s easy to let something as seemingly distant as retirement fall by the wayside; however, it might be some of the most important planning we can do. For our clients, retirement planning doesn’t start at retirement. Our service takes a long-term view of your financial wellbeing well before the end of your career, ensuring your life after work is as well-planned as your life prior to retirement.

Much like our financial planning services, we have a process for retirement planning:

  • Setting up the framework: The planning we’ll help you do is organized around four main ideas - achieving pre-retirement financial goals; ensuring sufficient income during retirement; safeguarding your nest egg and yourself against potential catastrophes; and planning for your legacy.
  • Analyzing your current financial state: To plan a meaningful retirement, you need to know where you currently stand. We’ll help you build an in-depth financial inventory to use as part of our planning process.
  • Developing the plan:  We’ll work with you to create a plan that addresses your unanswered questions, such as how much you should be spending and saving now, how current pensions and/or employer benefits might affect or be affected by retirement, and how much you might need in your golden years. When we’re done, you’ll not only know what you need to fund your retirement lifestyle, and what your investments may generate; you’ll also know how to bridge the shortfall – if any.
  • Implementing the plan: As you move closer to retirement, we’ll work with you on phasing in your plan while also keeping an eye on other facets of your life, like health care, insurance, and legacy planning. The goal is to make transitioning into retirement as seamless and stress-free as possible.
  • Ongoing reviews: We’ll continue to monitor and review your retirement plans and consult with you frequently about any changes or updates needed to address your evolving retirement lifestyle needs. Just like you, we’re in it for the long haul.
